> Founded by Mike and Kathy Johnson, who started drying Door County Montmorency tart cherries at home in a garage-sale dehydrator before scaling up. The viewing window into the actual production floor is worth the detour on its own, even before you get to the chocolate-covered cherries.

Factory store in Forestville (about 15 minutes south of Sturgeon Bay, off the main Highway 42 corridor) producing "the original Door County dried cherries" since 1987.

**Seasonal:** Open year-round. A genuine detour from the Hwy 42 corridor -- about 15 minutes south of Sturgeon Bay, not on the Sister Bay-Fish Creek-Egg Harbor route with the other orchards.
