# Viking Grill & Lounge

**Permanently closed (February 2022).**

Longtime owner and boilmaster Dan Peterson retired in 2022 after 38 years, and the building at 12029 Highway 42 in Ellison Bay is now [Blue Bear](/places/blue-bear-ellison-bay/) for breakfast and brunch and [Della Porta](/places/della-porta/) for dinner. The Viking is credited with starting Door County's restaurant fish boil tradition in 1961.
