Door County Guide is a visitor guide to Door County, Wisconsin. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
If you sign up for email updates, we store the email address you give us, which page you signed up from, and the date. That's it — we don't ask for your name or anything else.
Standard technical logs. Like any website, our host records basic request information (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure. We don't use this to identify individual visitors.
Analytics and cookies
We measure how the site is used so we can improve it, and we try to do it in the least intrusive way:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us privacy-first, aggregate counts (which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from). It sets no cookies and can't be used to identify you. It's always on.
- Google Analytics gives us more detail, but it uses cookies, so it only turns on after you accept the cookie banner. Until you accept, it runs in a limited, cookieless mode, and your IP address is anonymized either way. You can decline, and nothing breaks.

How we use it
We use your email address only to send you the Door County updates you signed up for — things like new guides and events worth planning around. We send email no more often than we have something genuinely worth your time.
What we don't do
We don't sell, rent, or trade your email address, and we don't share it with advertisers. We use trusted service providers to store data and send email on our behalf, and they may only use it to provide those services to us.
Your choices
Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time. You can also ask us to delete your information entirely — just emailhello@doorcountyguide.com and we'll take care of it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
