  A former house on the corner of 5th and Jefferson, converted room by room into a coffee house where you can hide away with a book in a small room or sink into a couch. The coffee is Rusty Dog, roasted in Madison, and the signature pulled pork burrito is the one to order.

• Kick Coffee

  This year-round coffee shop on Third Avenue pours Colectivo, the Milwaukee roaster, and builds its lattes on house-made syrups like honey pistachio and orange white chocolate. Owners Dave and Kate lean local, and the walls rotate through work by area artists.

• Lawlss Coffee - Sturgeon Bay

  Sturgeon Bay's original third-wave coffee roaster, pouring its own beans and lemonades built on from-scratch syrups. The café sits in a restored century-old former bank downtown, with the old vault repurposed as a lounge to drink your latte in.

• Pinky Promise Coffee

  Sturgeon Bay's first coffee roastery, where two brothers roast small batches in-house and you sip within view of the roaster. The cafe leans Spanish: order the Cortadito with brown sugar, or the iced Spanish latte finished with sweetened condensed milk.

• Town Hall Bakery

  A scratch bakery and cafe on Highway 57 north of Sturgeon Bay, family-run for more than thirty years. Order a caramel pecan sticky bun and go early, because the morning bakes sell out.

• Wickman's 2 Brews

  The two brews are coffee and beer: Intelligentsia by the cup and 16 rotating taps that pour only Wisconsin breweries. The Wickman family behind the counter started Door County's first commercial fish boil at Ellison Bay's Viking Grill in 1959. Thursday nights they fire the Green Egg and smoke pork and chicken.
