• Cave Point County Park

  Open year-round.

  One of the county's most striking shorelines, and it's free. Go at sunrise when the light hits the caves and you'll have the ledges nearly to yourself.

• Door County Kayak Tours

  Guided tours only, no self-guided rentals. Also rents fat-tire e-bikes.

  The Cave Point tour through the limestone sea caves is the obvious draw given the shop's location a few miles from the park, and the separate Door Bluff tour (up near Ellison Bay, past pictographs and the Fleetwing shipwreck) is worth the extra drive.

• Lakeside Park

  Wide, sandy, and rarely crowded. One of the calmest beach days on the quiet Lake Michigan side. Bring a picnic.

• Whitefish Dunes State Park

  Open year-round; vehicle admission sticker required.

  The best sand beach in Door County, full stop. Pair it with Cave Point next door: one parking lot, two landscapes.
